Our vision
At Bet Elazraki we envision for every child to emerge not only healed but also empowered to positively impact future generations, building stronger families and a brighter community.
Our mission
Our mission is to embrace and nurture each child by breaking the cycle of distress and helping them reach their full potential.
Our goals
Breaking generational cycles of distress by:
1. Creating a nurturing family environment:
We address all aspects of children's needs: physical, emotional, academic, and social.
2. Changing lives and enriching futures:
We equip children to overcome trauma, reach their potential, and build a positive future
3. Providing lifelong support and stability:
We provide lifelong support, mirroring the role of biological parents throughout adulthood.
4. Promoting academic excellence:
We prioritize education to build confidence.
5. Fostering independence and societal contribution:
We aim to nurture independent, healthy individuals who contribute positively to society.

Where They Live and Grow
1969
How it all started
In 1969 Alfonso and Gladys Sabah immigrated to Israel from Tangiers and settled in Netanya's Pardess HaGdud neighborhood. Near their home was the “Sinai” religious institution, which was home to children who were labeled “deserted and neglected”. The Sabahs quickly bonded with these children and opened their home to help. Dear Eliezer Kugler and his wife Rachel helped manage the institution, which, at the time, was home to 30 boys.
Planting the seeds
The Sabah family committed to caring for the children by establishing a fund and emphasizing the importance of housing security. They set up a synagogue in the area and gave children access to art and music activities. This strengthened the bond between the Sabah family and the children.
1969
Our New Home
With support from the Netanya Municipality, the Sabah family secured land to build a new, larger home. Completed in 1969, it was designed to house 50 children. With generous donations and a partnership with the National Religious Women’s Organization ('Emunah'), the home thrived under the management of Mr and Mrs. Kugler, who raised the children alongside their own.
Our Name: Bet Sabah Elazraki Children’s Home
Victor Elazraki, a relative of the Sabah family, visited the home several years after it was built and was incredibly moved. After he passed away, he left part of his estate to the children’s home. ‘Elazraki’ was added to our home’s name in gratitude for his generosity. The establishment of the children’s home would not have been possible without the selflessness of Alfonso and Gladys Sabah. After they passed away, the ‘Sabah’ name was added to our Home.
1982 - today
Our Journey from 1982 to Today
In 1982, the children’s home was registered as an independent association. Yehuda Kohn took over management of the home in 1990 and continues to manage the home today alongside his wife Riki.
